Crossing the Vale

As time has passed certain areas of the world stays unchanged.  The Vale of Jinni is one of those places.  People are said to disappear their, some say that they have seen things, things that will never leave them for the rest of their lives.  Others, they just don't want to talk about it, ever.  As ages pass though people forgot about the Vale, they forgot about the warnings, the stories, the truth behind it, and have created new names for places that had once been left alone.

People now days when they reach that same Vale, are usually left alone, people usually leave the vale alone.  Children who find the Vale come back and tell their parents fantastical journeys they have been on.  Their parents never believe them.   The children would tell fantastical stories of fairies and mermaids, of pirates and talking animals.  Stories that their parents would believe that they were just making up, just imaginary.  What if they were true though?  What if...by accident an adult were to step beyond the Veil and see for themselves the phantasmagoric world that is hidden by shadow and light.

what kind of world is it?

first our world
then typical fairy-esque world so lots of nature becareful where you step cause not everything is what it seems like world. i have a movie that is a good example but I can't remember what its called! blarg! so depending on where your at the world changes it sorta mirrors our own world but in a nature-like way and very dangerous cause everything that is just a myth over here is true over there.

So pretty much your general fantasyesque world?

that's what I'm thinking but I'm up for any other idea to shape it

is it normally only visitable by children or can it be visited by anyone and adults just don't talk about it cause they'd be called crazy or something?

Adults can come as well but most either keep quiet, are called crazy after returning or they don't return at all
See if you eat something in the Fae lands (like normal fae-stories) you end up being stuck there or if you're there for too long you forget about your home and stay. Fae will generally let the children go, warn them about eating things, or they still listen to their parents warnings. Adults don't listen to those warning when they reach that age
