Old Video Games

This is a place to reminisce about old video games. You can either marvel at how great they are, or laugh at bad graphics, glitches, and plot holes.

Personally, I used to play digimon, monster rancher, kingdom hearts, pokemon snap, Zelda, and Spyro.

I'm personally playing an old game again, Legend of Dragoon, it was a ps1 game that I have downloaded on my ps3. It's a rather old JRPG, but it is my favorite game ever.

I don't think I've ever heard of that one. What's it about?

Personally I've been playing the first Kingdom Hearts lately. It's not that old, but it is old enough to be nostalgic so I'm counting it. Besides, PlayStation 2 games are hard to come across nowadays (unless you go to Vintage Stock) so maybe it's older than I'm thinking it is.

It's about these 7 people. Who go on a variety of adventures(so much paraphrasing) it was the first rpg on the playstation if i remember correctly

I wanna get that game one day, but I'm on an JRPG burnout at the moment.

Also for some unexplainable reason my favorite N64 game is Quest 64. Something about the unfinished nature of it all, with very interesting battle mechanics, and some of my favorite minor enemies in all of video gaming...it really sparked my desire to be a video game designer.  Yet I don't know why... 

So many games I've never heard of >.< tell me, what is the premise of Quest 64?

Ok your like an 8 year old boy named Brian, in this magical land of Celtland, and your father Bart is like an ultimate magician dude who has gone missing after going on the hunt for this super magical dooms day book that was stolen from the monastery.

So you go on an adventure collecting 4 gems of the elements that balance out the sprits. And then fight a big bad demon who has been controlling the whole thing but has only been mentioned in the last 5 minutes before you fight him.

There is only one recurring character worth caring about named Shannon and she's the only one worth caring about because she is in every inn. There are no cut scenes, and every last drop of story comes from 98% completely unnecessary talking to people.

A+ story telling at it's finest!   

...Yeah the game's unfinishedness spared nothing.

Sounds fun aside from the whole unfinished thing. I may check it out.

So I recently found my Rampage game for my Gamecube.
It's pretty fun to destroy towns by kicking and punching buildings.

You should try the Mercenaries games, you can blow up EVERYTHING.

Oh that does sound fun! I enjoy a good destructive game.

The first one is amazing and on ps2.

The second one is not as good but still fun

I love games about excessive amounts of destruction! I recommended Katamari Damacy for all your earth destroying needs.

P.S. By unfinished I don't mean bug up the rear or anything, it's playable through and through, it's just...lacking. Very empty, no money system, a rather large magic system but made pointless by your staff... it's like a fully working Beta just that they didn't get to add any of the frills or anything.

Actually, I own We <3 Katamari and it's my favorite game. I've actually been waiting to buy myself a pair of Prince earrigs.

I actually got it for my birthday! I had seen how fun they looked and told my dad about them months earlier and he remembered and got me it!

We actually used to get these demo disks from PlayStation2 Magazine, and one had We <3 Katamari on it. I had been playing it with my brother right around Christmas of this year. A few days later we went to Vintage Stock to spend some Christmas money, and I found it there and couldn't resist.

I want to have the others, too. I just need more money -_-

ugh I know! The Gamers curse isn't it?

Ugh yes. I never actually got to buy a lot of games. If I want to play Red Dead Redemption or Portal or pretty much anything I have to wait until the next time I visit my brother.

Here it's Birthday's and Christmas all the way. :\

Some times though, we'll go into game stop anyways and I'll rummage through the bargain bin of little yellow sleeves and get a few since there usually really cheap and my dad knows we'll probably never see them again and pay more for when I inevitably go on amazon.

How lucky. Nobody thinks to get me games for my birthday or Christmas anymore.

If I want them for myself, I pretty much have to save up.

I buy all my games. I also have a job though so theres that.
