The hunt OOC/ Character applications

The humans: (amount pending) You should know what this race is like since you are one. This role-play is taking place in a medieval time, so no guns and lasers for weapons please. A human has no magical powers what’s so ever.

Enchanters: (Ask me first) The enchanters are graced with beauty. Those who encounter one of these creatures often cannot tear the gaze away and fall prey to their powers of seduction or illusions. They are sensual usually only affect the opposite gender but there had been cases were an extremely powerful enchanter can seduce both genders. They do not age like normal humans and maintain their grace and beauty.

Seer: (Ask me first) Seers have something people called the Sight. They have the ability to see events in the future, present, and the past. No matter the skill or age of the seer, it is something very dangerous. The seer should never enter a trance without someone beside them. They could loose themselves in the vision and can loose their minds. The Sight also gives a physical toll on the user. If misused, the seer can die from exhaustion. It’s one of the more dangerous Gifts.

Shifters:(one) These beings can shape-shift in a choice of three animals beside their human form. It has limitations however. The shifter can not stay in a single animal form for more than three hours or they will be stuck in that form. It also has a physical toll for the body must change its forms and the way it is constructed. Side-effects of this are not yet known.

Wizards and witches: (One or two besides the original witch) These are people who can control magic. They make spells and enchantment but must speak the spell for it to work. If they cannot finish the spell, it is useless. They have no direct branch of magic but cannot control the elements nor can they pull up illusions.

Priests and priestess:(Taken?) These are considered the holly creatures. They have the ability to summon any creature or demon at will. However, it is a form of alchemy so something of equal power must be given in tribute before something can be summoned. They also have the ability to rise the dead but only for a short time and takes a tremendous toll on the priest of priestess.

Member numbers are not set so a variety of people can join but I do want equal distribution. The leader of the Maelstrom is also open. Details can be expanded. This group is open for anything. Personality: Cold and stoic, Jacob the an emotionless zealot who believes that everything that he does not believe to be holy or sacred, deserves nothing more then death. Can often be found patrolling the lands, weeding out any blasphemers who would attempt to say anything foul about his master, the witch. Can often be found reading from his texts or praying when not in service to the witch.
History: Born as a peasant near the very edge of the Saev, Jacob had very little as a child, and disaster often struck him all through out his childhood until both his parents were killed in an encounter with a mad creature. He was the only one to survive the slaughter, and filled with misery, began to wander through the Saev until he came upon a church. It held only one occupant, an old priest who helped those with nothing. He took Jacob in and taught him the ways of priesthood, and taught him how to control creatures, both holy and demonic.

Time rolled onward and Jacob grew to the age of eighteen, and on that day he was approached by the woman who would soon become his master. She told him of her plan to unite humans and creatures together under her rule he came upon the decision to give her his abilities in order to make her goal become reality. However, his teacher disagreed with the witch's plans, knowing full well the chaos that would unfold, should such a plan come into effect. The old priest fought valiantly with Jacob to stop him from joining the witch, but Jacob overpower him, and in a crazed fervor, killed his teacher. Numb from what he had done, Jacob burned down the church in which he had lived so long in and joined his new master, the witch as her stoic servant.

Name: Kevin Frost

Race: Enchanter/low wizard

Status: Free, but still has the owner's brand.
Orientation: straight
Apperance: Kevin has short black hair that cuts off at the base of his neck. His bangs go into his deep blue eyes however. His skin is a milky white but is not unhealthy. He appears slightly femanine and has very average muscle since he wasn't used for battle or recieved any training in such. He stands tall at 6'3 and weighs about167 Ibs He was always adorned with silk clothing but that will change through the role play.

Personality: Kevin from a young age looked out for his brother so he has a brother complex. He'll do anything to ensure that his younger brother is not harmed in anyway. This often leads to himself being punished by his master who doesnt' tolerate disobediance. Kevin also cares about others besides his brother. He has a generally kind heart to everyone around him unless they are the ones after him.

He has a soft spot for animals and will go out of his way to see if they are okay and if not, will care for them. Under all the charm and kindness however, he is very sarcastic and often tries to make light of his situtation no matter how bleak it is. He never backs away from a challenge and even if all odds are against him, he will not back down. It is not in his nature to give up even if sometimes he debates it.

History: When he was a single child, his parents had given him all the attention he wanted and more. He grew up sheltered and full of energy. there wasn't a moment he would stand still and loved to flaunt his abilities whenever he had the oportunity to. His mother taught him his skills and exceded her expectations for his age. However, he failed miserably when his father tried to teach him magic.

When his brother was born however, attention was quickly devouted to the younger of the two. Kevin picked up on that and started to protect his little brother from people who would tease him for being so small. His brother was often sick so that was more cause for concern. Kevin took on a bad attitude then to make sure no one would dare harm his sick brother.

At the age of ten, the witch found his family and destroyed their little home. His mother and father faught against her, but they could not win against her and the rest of her servants. Once they were dead, she took Kevin and his brother into her home and marked them as slaves. She completed their training and was pleased with the results.

Kevin still protected his brother who always seemed to get on his master's nerves and get in the way of punishments causing more injury to himself, but managed to save his brother from added wounds. He dreamed for freedom and away from her cruel ways and managed to escape leaving his brother behind. He will stop at nothing to free him.

Apperance: Jake, for the most part looks like a younger Kevin. There are a few differences however. His raven hair is streaked with blond and his eyes are a deep shade of violet. His face is more boyish than Kevin since Jake is younger. He stands at 6'0 and weighs 160 Ibs.

Personality: Jake is generally shy around people he doesn't know and hides behind his brother. He hates the fact that he is considered the weakling of the family but there is nothing much he can do against his immune system. He is quite and doesn't generally like to speak to others because he fears they would be judgemental of him too quickly.

Around his brother and his parents though, he shows a different side of him. He is outgoing and likes to rough house with his brother when he is well enough for it and liked to read and write to them. If he had the chance, he might have become a poet. His Gift takes a toll on him and he believes that it is the reason for his weakness and doesn't like using his Sight. If he couldn't he would get rid of it. He wishes he was 'human' and didn't have to worry about straining his body past his limitations.

History: As a baby, he had been healthy and often had so much energy he would run around for hours before he would finally crash and go to sleep. He didn't show the signs of an enchanter like Kevin, so his parents believed he would turn out to be a wizard like his father. They were only half right. Jake took to wizardry faster than his brother and proved capable of weilding magic.

However, that only lasted for a few years. At the age of seven he gave himself his first vision when he was starring at a lake. He had fallen in when he became intranced and his brother had saved him before he had drowned. Since then, his body gets exhausted quickly from the sight. For a time, his parents had gotten rid of candles and scents and tried to keep him from dazing off into space.

When the witch had come to their house, he and his brother had been cornered and grabbed by her other slaves and brought back to her castle where she branded them. She uses Jake as a bargin chip for his brother and for his visions.

Abilities besides the ones listed: Likes to sing and dance, good at sensing other peoples feelings at times, also can talk to animals out side of animal form (can only talk though nothing more nothing less)

Weapons: twin swords, in animal form: claws, teeth, talons (usual animal stuff)

Hair color and length: Brown with red and blonde highlights goes down to her shoulder blades

Skin color: white

Extra: Kat is 5' 7" and her hair is curly and frizzy, it goes around her like a mane, the bottom of it though, not above her head it doesn’t defy gravity.

Personality: Kat is usually upbeat and happy but get her angry, which is hard to do, and she will attack with out remorse. Doesn’t necessarily care what others think but can get nervous around new people. She is very friendly and protective, a good person to be on your side, but she believes her nose is good for smelling good and bad people.

She likes to sing and dance as it was part of her culture, it was said that when the right people of her culture did it, something happened, Kat never found out. Kat is really curious and it drives her nuts, she can also be very stubborn. Her shifting powers does take a toll on her and has side-effects like her becoming animalistic at times, and her ability to talk to animals, also sometimes her physical traits get changed from them, slightly. She feels that she had just scrapped the beginning of the side-effects.

History: Kat’s village was one that allowed people of every race to be together in peace and harmony. The village also took studying of the powers and how they each got it very seriously. So they held multitude of ceremonies and traditions. Some were for fun others were not so much. There was one where every five year old in the village would go to the village and were given a sheet of paper and depending on what that sheet did would determine what they were, even if they had already found out what they were.. That paper was experimented on every year to make sure of accuracy. They knew mostly it was blood though, so two “human” parents would most likely have a “human” child, that wasn’t the case for Kat though.

Kat did the ceremonies and traditions with out complaint but when she was eleven, disaster struck. The witch sent her minions to Kat’s village to destroy it and take anything of value. Some ran and fled, some survived, others weren’t so lucky. Kat was told by her parents to run, and so she did, she ran as a “human” would, and she hid. She made sure no one would find her and she watched as people were killed, struggled, branded as slaves, and some escape. She hid in the forest.

She now walks with a new band of people a mixture just like her village, but without the ceremonies to find out the truth of the powers and such. This group was to get rid of the witch, to save the land, and to get revenge. Maelstrom was born to face the witch and bring her down.

Accepted. Two clarifications however. Is your character the leader of Maelstrom? Are you going to play all those characters in Maelstrom or are you giving another opportunity for people to play in the organization?
