PostSubject: The Ties That Bind Us   Mon Feb 04, 2013 4:26 pm

Delphine Page worked behind the bar at one of the busiest night clubs in New Tempest: The Swinging Siren. Tonight however, the bar was nearly empty. The dance floor lay barren save for the two regulars who swayed arrhythmically to the the pulsing beat of the music. She sighed and pushed her sweaty black hair out of her face. The start of her shift had seen her short hair pulled back by clips, but it had fallen loose, as it always did, within a few hours. Her crystal blue eyes fixated on the door, hoping that it would open soon with new customers and give her something to do other than pretending to polish the bar. Tuesday nights were usually slow, but it had been a while since she'd seen the club this empty.

She glanced at the DJ and gave him a flirtatious wink. She had known him for a long time. He was quick to bed and quick to leave, which was fine by her. Really, anything was fine by her. She gave him a wolfish grin. He would not leave the club tonight without first finding her. She stretched; her too-tight uniform pulled up over her abdomen. She didn't bother to fix it.

Checking to make sure her manager wasn't looking, she took a swig from an open beer bottle that some customer had left behind. She normally tried not to drink on the job, but when things got slow, she got bored. She had learned quickly that she could get away with almost anything here. Her looks and easy smile had made her a quick favorite with the customers. She would have to really slip up to loose her job here.

She glanced as the bell rang indicating that someone had opened the door.

Anna Field walk into a dead club because she was new to this city and bored out of mind. She was dress to kill in a litte black dress that shows off her curves with some class. Her long red hair flots around her the small of her back. She look at the bar with her grey eyes that can look like silver in the right light sees a beauty, bored too. She walk up and takes a seat at rhe bar.

The reason she is in a new city is because she hasn't found a place where she belongs to. The young woman never knows what awaits her in a new place and she like that feeling until the town or city starts to bore her again. She can easily pack her things and move on with a little worry.

"Hello, Sweetheart. I would like a jack and coke, please," the woman with grey eyes said with playful smile on her lip to raven haired woman. She know that being sweet and coy works nearly on everyone. Once she look into those crystal blue eyes, she feel an odd feeling that she knows this person but never seen woman in her life before.

Delphine eyed the newcomer with her brow's raised. True, she wasn't that picky about her lovers, but this woman really caught her eye. The slim black dress that hugged her body showed off every luscious curve, teasing her with just enough skin to get her excited. She wasn't in the habit of picking up lovers at work - that had led to complicated situations in the past. It was tempting though, as she stared into those near-silver eyes. She cocked her head to the side and gave her patented wolfish smile.

"How can I help you, love?"

Something strange stirred in Delphine's chest as she talked. Something about this woman was familiar; something hidden behind those grey pools. She was fairly sure she hadn't seen her before; she usually remembered long-haired beauties like her. Of course, it was a busy club; a lot of faces passed by her eyes. It wasn't always possible to remember all of them.

DJ Jeff switched to some Spin Doctors; one of Delphine's favorite groups. She winked at him in appreciation. He smiled back half-heartedly when he saw the customer Delphine was serving. He knew that he was her fall back. If she hit it off with that bombshell, he would be going home alone for sure. He sighed.

"Only a Jack and coke on the rocks, Sweet pea." Anna said with trademark half smile.

A song comes on with a simple but moving beat that she as not heard before. She bob her head to the music. The beauty behind the bar look right with the short do. She like a woman who can play the game as well as her. When she got her drink, then pay for it. She take a sip, and feel the wonderful burn from the whiskey. "What a nice beat. It rare to hear good music in a club." the woman said calmly.

She still cannot shake the feeling she knows this woman. She rarely had that happen to her in her life. The song change to a one that she knows, she keep time with fingers on the whiskey glass. Anna hopes that the club stay nearly dead so she can talk to woman.

"Yes, of course. Right away. Unless you'd prefer me to take my time." She winked with a flirty smile and went to make the drink. With her back turned to the bar, she shook her head. What was wrong with her? It wasn't like her to make a customer repeat themselves. This woman had her head spinning already, and she wasn't even drunk! She poured the drink and slid it over to her patron.

"Our DJ here is pretty good," Delphine said with a half-smile. She knew from experience just how good he really was. "When it gets slow like this he likes to show off his library. People go into a club, they expect booming bass and flashing lights. Jeff likes to mix it up a bit, if you know what I mean." She cocked her head to one side.

"I haven't seen you around here before, have I?" she asked partially out of courtesy and partially out of curiosity. She had a pretty good memory for faces, so she was fairly certain that she had never met this woman, but there was something special about her that she just couldn't shake. She found herself wishing that she wasn't working so that she could have a drink too. The one sip she had snuck was suddenly not strong enough.

"That is very cool. He can pick them." the woman in black said playfully. Anna keep her eyes on the pretty little thing before her, not minding the others around them. She takes another sip hoping the burn of the whiskey will help clear her mind a bit. It is very rarely she get this way with someone she first meet.

"I don't think, so. But something about you makes me feel like I known you before." she said softly as a lover would. Her nearly silver grey eyes almost shine in the dim light. "May I have you name, please?" she ask sweetly.

Her long fingers rub the top of the whiskey glass, wanting to be alone with this woman. Too bad that raven hair beauty has to work tonight.

"I bet you say that to all the bartenders," Delphine replied with a grin. Despite her flippant attitued, she was a bit relieved that the other woman was having the same strange sense of deja vu. She looked around to make sure no one else needed her attention, then leaned casually on the bar. Her arms folded against the cool wood and she let her chest rest on them. The action caused even more of her cleavage to spill out of her ill-fitting uniform. Screw it. She was going to flirt her heart out. If she regretted it later, then so be it.

"The name's Delphine," she replied with a smile. "and what's yours?"

She eyed the woman up and down, trying to gleam some sort of information from her appearance. She was dressed for a night out, that was sure. She came her alone though, which meant that she wasn't meeting anyone. Or rather, if she was, they were late. The fact that she they had never met before meant that she could be new to the area. Most locals stuck with the bars they knew; there wasn't a lot of hopping around. If the woman was traveling, that could be a blessing or a curse. It would definitely make it easier to back out of any sort of commitment if things went wrong.

"And what's a pretty thing like you doing drinking alone?"

Anna giggle lightly and said, "Only the ones who are cute." The red haired woman half smile as she take a quick look at Delphine cleavage then back to her face. She curl her finger around a strand of her red hair. This woman is trying to act coy and sweet, her way of flirting her heart out no matter what.

"My name is Anna. You have a beautfull name , it reminds me of the sea." the young woman said with a smokey tone of voice. That she knows will drive most people weak with lust.

"I like to see what new place hold for me. You can say I am a bit little wind, not knowing which way is home." Anna said calmly. She takes the last sip of her jack and coke, and didn't order another one because, she almost feels like she is drunk off of Delphine herself. Which is odd for her because most people said that about her when she not trying to be sexy.

Delphine couldn't resist a smile. This girl was fun. She opened her mouth to continue flirting, but a new customer had walked in and was demanding her attention. She sighed. She wouldn't have minded a few more minutes of peace to talk, but she was on duty. She gave a wink to her new companion.

"I'll be right back, Sweet," she promised.

She went to address the new customer. He was a good looking man in a suit - presumably just off work himself. He was the type she would usually go for. He likely had a high-stress job and could stand to blow off a little steam. She was usually more than happy to help them do that. Tonight though, she had a little mermaid on her hook, and she wasn't looking to loose her catch. She filled the man's drink with a friendly attitude. Once he was content, she went back over to Anna.

"So, Anna," she said, "what do you. . . enjoy doing?" She paused slightly in the middle of the sentence, letting her eyes convey her meaning. She would like to know more about this scarlet-haired enchantress, but also wanted to know her intentions. Was she a one-night-stand kind of girl, or would she expect something more? She was having an unusual amount of trouble reading this woman.

"Alright, hurry back now." Anna said with a light smile. The young woman watches how she moves and act around other people, Delphine is a breath of fresh air in the world of fakers. But oddly for her she feels a little green with envy for the man holding the raven haired beauty for a short time. She don't usually feel this way ever about someone she meet for the first time.

"Things I like to, is sing and play music. I like to push myself harder than anyone would. I am not the type to stay in love, if it hurting me or the one I care about. Lets say I am a walking mess most of the time under a vail that make me look I have my stuff together." the grey eye of the young woman said softly. Anna can usually can tell about a person by talking to them once, but the buried feels she hides from the world is coming back into the open by a simple look.

She brush back a piece of Delphine's loose lock of hair back. "I came here lone, but maybe I will not be once I leave." she said with a half smile and a whisper. Her mind and heart seems for now on the same page which is rare for her.

Delphine licked her lips in anticipation. Oh, but this one was fun. She liked it when someone could keep her guessing. It kept her on her toes and kept her intuition sharp. She couldn't shake the feeling that this game, in particular, had very high stakes. What kind of person could make her feel this way, like she absolutely could not loose? She wanted to find out.

"A musician, hmm?" she said with a smile. Musicians, or any artist, could be a lot of fun.

Anna's second comment still rang in Delphine's head. The implications could not be ignored. Her heart began pounding hard in her chest. How long had it been since someone had made her feel like that?

"If you don't want to go home alone, I'm sure that some. . . arrangements could be made." She nodded to another customer who had walked in. Duty would soon call her away again. "I don't have any plans once I get off," she said, wringing her cleaning towel in her hands. If Delphine was any other woman, one might think that she was nervous. "If you want to wait around, that is. Excuse me."

With a sigh she went to tend to the new customer. Unlike the last one, this man was irritated and pushy - not what she was in the mood for. She got him his drink as quickly as she could. He could have waited, for all she cared, but she wanted to get back to her company as soon as she could.

Anna feels shock going up her back as the thought of her coming with her, she rarely get that type of feeling with another person. The lady with red hair as an odd feeling that they play this game before, but it is keeping on her toes. She nods lightly to yes to the musician question. "I will be here, waiting." she said with a light smile.

Something is drawing together, and Anna does not want it to go away. She as a feeling if this does not work out that she would be missing a great thing. Her soul knows this deep down. She wish the raven haired beauty comes back, because it feels odd empty without her close.

She can tell the way she moves to get the guy a drink that she wants to come back to her. Anna is glad that she pick a slow day to drop on by. Because she usually get hit on by almost everyone a lest once if she unlucky.

Delphine hurriedly fixed the customer his drink: a Single Malt Scotch. From the smell of him, this wasn't his first bar-trip tonight. She set down his drink on a coater and slid it to him. Giving him a half-sincere smile, she started back over to Anna. She stopped when she felt something grab her wrist. With a sinking feeling in her stomach, she turned back to the customer.

"Was there something else you wanted?" She was used to getting harassed at work. Hell, sometimes she even encouraged it. Tonight though, she was not in the mood. And certainly not for a drunk creep like this.

"Whash your hurrry, miss?" he slurred with a sickening smile. "I jush got here, an' you're not offerin' me any shmall talk?"

He pulled her a little closer, to where the bar was beginning to cut into her midsection. She tried to pull away, but his grip was strong and his nerve was strengthened by the alcohol. His face was inches from hers. She tried to stay calm. She looked around for help, but the bar was still mostly empty. Even Jeff wasn't at his post - he must have stepped out for a cigarette. Her heart began to race.

Anna sees her girl in a spot with drunk. So she gets up from her sit, to the man. "Would you let go of my friend." she said with mock smile.

The man turn to her an give her a look that makes her feel a little sick inside. But she didn't let show on her face. "What are you going do if I don't, Sweet?."the man said drunkly.

Without a word the young woman hit him in the jewels, with the balls of her feet. The man lets go of Delphine's arm in pain. He drop to the ground, holding his family jewels. "You should know how to treat a lady. Also how to hold your booze.." the red head said calmly as she walk back to her place at the bar.

Anna look as the young woman, hoping she is alright. "Are you ok?" she asked the woman with short black hair. She is worried the about Delphine being to hurt.

Delphine rubbed absently at the arm the drunk had been clinging to. She took a deep breath to gather herself before responding. These sorts of situations were not uncommon here, but she had never really gotten used to that sort of treatment. She forced a smile on her face and looked at her rescuer.

"I'm fine, Anna," she responded. "I've seen worse happen here. Thank you."

She turned back to the assailant. She had to stand on her toes to see his crumpled form over the bar. A true smile played at her lips, but she tried to keep it under control. It would not be very professional to laugh at a customer's pain. Even at a customer that was a pain.

"I'm afraid I'm going to have to ask you to leave, sir."

She finally spotted Jeff coming back in from a smoking break, and motioned him over. The bar didn't have an official bouncer, despite several requests to the manager to get one, but Jeff often took the position on himself. He rushed over and helped the man to is feet and began leading him towards the exit.

Anna oddly glad to see that man leaving in pain that she caused, with the help of the dj. "You are very welcome. I hope that it would not happen again." the red haired woman said.

She has a feeling that it happen again, she may hurt that person more than a few bruise jewels. The almost silver gray eyed woman wonders if she is falling in love so fast.

She want the young raven haired woman hers for all time. She tries to shake that thought out of her head, but will not go away. Anna walks to Delphine and pat her good arm. She wants to make her feel better.
