Besides the heat, hellish conditions, constant struggle, seemingly never ending bandit raids, countless amounts of slaughter, the unbelievably terrifying monsters roaming around the lands, and the fact that the chances of finding the materials needed to survive around this place are slim to none, Pandorum isn't all that bad............
Okay, so the world has become a gigantic wasteland. Well, what are you gonna do, quit? You can't quit life pal (I mean, unless you feel like offing yourself but seriously, do you think you have the balls for that?) Pandorum is an endless, unbearably dangerous place that is what millions of people call home. The cities and villiages are made of run down scrap metal buildings, housing just the bare minimum ammount of resources needed to survive and supply all the townsfolk. Not to mention the fact that you run the risk of having the bare minnimum of resources you stored up, along with your fellow neighbor's help, in order to support the whole town stolen by bandits.
So yeah, Pandorum is a hellhole. And only the strongest survive. Luckily, this land is full of survivors. What makes a survivor? Someone with a strong will to live, lots of knowledge and skill, and someone who knows how NOT to die.
It also helps to be packin' heat.
Yeah, that's right.
Among the many denizens of Pandorum, the strongest breed of humans live throughout the lands. They're called Drifters.
Why? Well, that's pretty easy: They drift from town to town, looking for the needed materials to survive. Some are thieves, some are vigilantes, some are both.
These Drifters are also embued with some strange DNA mutation, meaning, they're pretty handy in a fight. Especially with guns.
Why does that matter?
In order to enable people to survive better, several gun and equipment companies sprung up across Pandorum. These companies instantly became a Drifter's best friends.
See, as a Drifter, you learn fast that if you wanna live, you need tools, and you need to know how to handle those tools.
So, these companies sell guns and gear to all in need of protection: both from the countless threats that roam Pandorum, and from Pandorum itself.
The gun companies; Trooper Guns, Hellfirearms, Reapers Inc. and Red Dawn Weaponry, all sell firearms and ammo in order for you to blow the heads off of oppression and the bandits you intend to use these babies on.
The gear companies; The Working Man Industries (TWMI), Gretschger Equipment Co. and Heavy Metal Productions, sell things like clothing and armor specially suited to protect you from the environment and bandit gunfire.
So, you see why Drifters love 'em. Drifters are also these companies best customers.
Each Drifter has a specific type of gun they perfer: revolvers, launchers, auto-pistols, rifles, shotguns, assault rifles, machine guns, and hand cannons.
In order to live, you need tools.
So, what is the point of the story?
Well, in Pandorum (as you've heard a gazillion times, I'm sure) survival is key.
You are a Drifter, one of the fortunate. You have adapted the skills of survival, learned what being a gunslinger truly is, and are ready to kick some serious ass.
So you tell your tale, how to survive in this hellish place, and how to see it through to the end.
Will you survive, or fall at the hands of Pandorum's unbearable conditions?
//RULES & NOTES// //0's are rules, 1's are notes//
0. No godmodding. While you are a mutated strain of human species, you aren't invincible. You can die, and will if you think you can't.
0. It's imperative that you stick to the outline of the RP. Don't bring in elements that don't belong here. This RP is based on science fiction, so.....No magic, summoning, sorcery or anything of that sort.
0. Be literate. This is a literate roleplay. I don't want to see run-on sentences, constantly misspelled words (once in a while is fine), or sentences with no punctuation.
0. Guns have an ammo limit, reload.
0. I'll allow swearing (to site's standards)
0. No auto hitting. Nothing ruins a roleplay more than when someone auto hits. And combat should be somewhat lengthy. It's pretty anti-climatic whenever you just up and kill something the size of a tank, or just off a world-revered marksman with one shot.
1. Commitment is the key word in this roleplay. Don't join if you're just gonna drop out later.
1. There's no general story for this RP. It's just about you and your story, along with your interactions with the other characters. Events will unfold, and things will happen. Just roll with it and have fun.
1. I'm not afraid to kill your player off. If I feel you're doing something that compromises the RP, you will die, and if you post any more, they shall be disregarded.
0. Have fun.

Name: Ryder
Alias: The Ranger
Age: 27
Sex: Male
Orientation: Straight
Bio: Ryder grew up in Pandorum at the bottom of the barrell. Seriously, that's where he lived. He had to scrounge, beg, and steal just to live to see tomorrow. At 13, he was taken in and adopted by a man named Marshall Black. Marshall taught Ryder everything about how to survive, showing him useful tecniques, teaching him how to use a gun, and how to defend himself in case there were no guns for him to use. Marshall was the father Ryder never knew. At 18, Ryder was already a successful bounty hunter. He earned just enough to keep Marshall and himself alive. When Ryder turned 23, he came home from a bounty to find Marshall scattered across the house.
They had been broken into, robbed, and Marshall had been sliced to pieces. The murderer left a note:
If you're smart, you'll stay away. You don't know me, but I know you all too well, Ranger. If you wanna stay alive, don't come looking for me.Ryder crumbled the note, and set out for the man that killed his father.
Searching for 4 years to no avail, Ryder stopped in a town called Roram. There, he heard tales of a man who carried a large blade, which he used to exact revenge upon people by "cutting their asses to pieces". Ryder started there, looking for a man with a giant blade.
Personality: Ryder is the silent type, but can be sociable when needed, like, when he needs the company of a woman or is discreetly prying information from an unsuspecting person. He's cold-blooded and has no regard for anyone but himself, but will not kill innocent people.
