My Prince of Stars
On a dark, still night I rise
Innocent ones, open your eyes
I’ve come not for your heart
I’ve come just for your mind
Wicked smiles and twisted dreams
Are all you seem to see
In the light you cannot find
Just what you are to me.

I will open your eyes
I will clear your mind
In my darkness you will find
The sweet symphony of the night.
Prince of stars come now to me
Reject the light of day
Come with me and you will see
It’s to our music the trees sway

There is light in the night
Dark shadows in the day
We will rule over it all
In the changing we will play
I have you now, my love,
Mind, heart, and soul
Come with me into the dark
Come and wear my crown
You shall never want to leave
This dark paradise you’ve found

My Boy
The places that I run to
Through my life
When I’m alone
Are slowly disappearing
As his light shines
Into my shadows.

Oh my lover boy shines bright
And I know he’ll love me right
Shine on, my boy
Shine your light into my life

My fears and all my worries
That I carried
For so long
Are slowly getting lighter
As he shines
Ever brighter

My boy, oh my boy
Come and love me right
My boy, oh my boy
Shine on through the night.

More to come later. . .

I like both of your poems. My favorite is the first one you wrote. It actually reminds me of a Romanian poet that my mother told me I take after. The three of us wrote something quite similar and I am glad to see I am not the only one. Keep writing! You should make a poetry book and publish. Your poems are good.

Thank you. Its really just something I do when I'm bored or stressed. What's the name of the poet? I'd love to read some of his work. Very Happy

It is in Romanian my friend XD. I don't think you'll be able to read it lol. His name is Yhonescu. I think. I forgot how to spell his name XP. It is a very, very old poetry book. I don't think they sell his work anymore... I could be wrong.

(Yeah, I doubt I could read that. . . lol.)

The Immortal
I will remain when all you know turns to dust.
I will remain when your hopes and dreams rust.
I will remain once humanity dies.
I will remain, alone under the sky.
My gift and my curse will protect me
My gift and my curse; do you fear me?
Silent laughter, dark as night
Fear, for you cannot match my might.
Alone for eternity in my open grave
Alone for eternity, I cannot be saved.
You know my name, though you dare not say
You speak not of the demon shunned by the day.
You seek me still, though you know not why
Love me, then hate me as you die.

A Rose
Softly, softly
For a rose need not yell
Sweetly, sweetly
For a rose needs a smell
Gently, gently
For a rose has delicate petals
Firmly, firmly
For a rose must stand trough trials
Modestly, modestly,
For a rose need not adorn
Courageously, courageously,
For a rose must bare its thorn

(I promise I won't post everything I write. lol. I just really liked these two. . .)

I love both poems. Very nice images. Again, I like the first one best XD. Brings out quite a bit of emotion. Same with the second. You made a spelling error in the second.

This is a poem that my friend and I collaborated on. He was supposed to write a short paper about what his favorite superhero/power was and why. I started jabbering off poetry, and we ended up writing this instead. xD I'm sure his writing teacher will love it.

Superman is my idol of sorts, he flies up in the sky.
He saves the peeps of Metropolis and needs no reason why.
Changing outfits in a flash, he leads a second life,
Fighting evil against the odds, snuffing out all strife.
Of course as far as one can tell, I respect the doers of good,
I'd like to follow in their footsteps, as any child would.

If I could be a superhero, I'll tell you what I'd do.
I'd fly around the world and save a life or two.
If I could fly up in the sky as free as any bird,
I'd fly so fast that I would be ridiculously blurred.
I'd rescue cats up in the trees, get thanks from little kids
And swoop upon the wrongdoers of towns, as only the law forbids.

Of all the reasons for one to fly, this one still stands true;
That all the weight that I possess is lost up in the blue.
I'd feel so free that all my worries then would disappear,
And if I fell off of a cliff, I'd have no need of fear.
One more thing I know for sure, that everywhere I go,
I'll be the one to smile as I pass, telling everyone, "Hello!"

Nice! I think it is cute XD. I am sure his professor will love it as well. You guys might have used a little too many commas though. You went comma happy.

Also this sentence: And swoop upon the wrongdoers of towns, as only the law forbids.

Is a little awkward. You need to change the wording or use a different sentence instead. Hope I helped a little.

Found my old poems in the finished section. I guess because of my hiatus a lot of things got moved.

Dancing alone in my room
Shadows reflect off the mirror
Join my off-beat promenade.
Arms swinging wildly,
Feet sending vibrations through the floor
A slow smile spreads on my face
My hair flies wildly through the air
A knock on my door breaks the beat
Swift movements
Pause button
Nothing ever happened.

Haunted House

Footsteps echo down the hallway
floorboards creaking as you go
something's sneaking up behind you
spin around - there's nothing there.

Just the shadows playing with you
rub your eyes, they disappear.
Open up the door before you
an empty room meets your stare.

Cold sweat forming on your brow
Something's watching as you move
Breathing deeply right behind you
You want to run, but do you dare?

A ghastly whisper in your ear
"Leave this place whilst you can"
Your heart beat races faster, faster,
"Leave this place, Beware, Beware!"

Running through the empty hallways
shadows clawing at your feet
fling open the door, escape the horror
before you're trapped in the hunter's snare.

A cold wind blows the leaves around you
You glance back once, then run for home
never return to this place of silence
but in your dreams returns the nightmare.

Short one I wrote over breakfast one day. Kind of depressing, but oh well. I get lonely sometimes. It happens. :p

Winter Heart

The cold days have come round again
Leaves are falling and the flowers dying
The darkness overwhelms the day
As the frost sprites come to play.

But coldness is nothing new
Familiar shivers run through
The frozen heart of a bitter body
With no one there to warm it.

Snow falls silently blanketing all
Nothing to be done but just to watch it fall
A muted field of empty white
On this cold and lonely winter’s night.

But emptiness is nothing new
Familiar doubts echo through
The empty soul void of love
And no mercy from the Heavens above.

Ice covers each broken path
Hazardous traveling at every pass
Slip and fall repeatedly
As icicles watch from the tops of the trees

But falling down is nothing new
Bruises and cuts shine through
Every brave façade put on
The healing may never come.

Christmas carols sung
ringing through these cheery halls
Merry Christmas now

Winter's heart beats cold
gather now around the fire
telling stories old

This baby came down
creating seasons of joy
let the love shine bright

Presents under trees
children laugh as paper tears
what a mess it makes

Snowmen guard the fields
silent watchmen in the night
fall prey to day light
